Fishing in Lake Glengary at Camp Lakota in August was followed by a Pinewood Derby where Cubs built and raced cars built with Legos down a sloping track. In addition, recruiting new Cub Scouts was on the agenda. The Pack will be enjoying Putt-Putt golf this month in addition to returning to weekly meetings after the summer break.
The Troop had an overnight experience in August at Binder Zoo, a 433 acre park in Battle Creek, Michigan, where there are 500 animals with 140 different species. Troop members also helped staff the Pie Pan at the Defiance County Fair. Further, to strengthen the bond between the Pack and Troop, Troop members led a hike for the Cubs. September brings elections for new leader positions along with a Court of Honor to recognize individual achievements.
