– Please utilize the hand sanitizer upon entry.

– An usher will escort you, your family, or guests to your seat for the worship service.
– Those who live in the same household are welcome to sit together.
– We ask that you remain seated in your assigned area and refrain from moving or leaving until advised to do so by an usher or worship service leader.
– People will be seated every other pew.
– Seating will be spaced appropriately to maintain
– There will be no hymnals or worship guides. The worship service will be projected on the wall.  The weekly bulletins, prayer sheet and inserts will continue to be printed and available.

– For the safety of our staff and congregation we will not be collecting offering in the traditional “passing” of the offering plate. Instead, there will be an offering plate at the entrance for those who wish to leave and offering.
– We understand that music and liturgy is an important part of the worship service; however, recent studies have identified additional risks to group singing and speaking. Therefore, we highly recommend wearing masks during the worship service.

– We will be providing Communion during our worship services on the first, third and fifth Sundays of the month. Individual Communion packaged are distributed when you enter the church. Please open them when instructed and the congregation will commune together.

– Please pick-up and fill out attendance card. Place a “C” behind your name if you received Communion. Place the attendance card in the offering plate or to an usher.

Live Streaming

– The 5:30 p.m. and the 11:00 a.m. services will continue to be live streamed. Subscribe to St. John Lutheran Defiance, Ohio YouTube channel.

– The custodians are doing extra cleaning and making sure the “high touch” areas are cleaned more often. The Sanctuary is sanitized after each use.

– It has been difficult during this time not having opportunities to meet and enjoy each other’s company. Unfortunately, we will need to refrain from congregating and continue to limit our interaction with one another, as we still do not want to engage in activities that would increase risk to others. As a result, there will not be any refreshments offered prior to the service and we will refrain from any gatherings or interaction at the conclusion of the service.

– The doors are propped open to reduce the touching of the handles.
– Only one person in the bathroom at a time.
Use the Clorox wipes to wipe off all handles etc. that you have touched.

– Bible study groups will sit 6-feet apart about and sanitize the area when done.

– Meetings will adhere to the 6-foot distancing. The areas will need to be sanitized after use.

– We will continue to fill the resource cabinet with materials for members to pick up at any time of the day.

– Small water bottles will be available on the pews in the lower hallway and the pew in the south lobby if anyone would like some water.
– The fountains are closed temporarily.

Youth are using “ZOOM” and also doing some in person meetings. Check with Cassidy for more information.
