St. John Lutheran sponsors both Cub Scout Pack 75 (ages 6-11) and Boy Scout Troop 75 (ages 12-18), both of which been chartered for over 50 years. Each provides age-appropriate activities for character development, citizenship training, personal fitness and a relationship with God through the church award programs.
Cub Scouts meet in age-related Dens at 6:30 PM on Mondays in the cafeteria. The Dens then gather once each month, again at 6:30 PM on Mondays, for a Pack Meeting to share and show what they have learned in their individual Den meetings. Doing your best and improving and growing from a Cub Scout’s efforts are the goals.
Boy Scouts meet every Monday at 6:30 PM as well, in the Gym and Fellowship Room. The ideals of Boy Scouting are spelled out in the Scout Oath, the Scout Law, the Scout motto, and the Scout slogan. The Boy Scout measures himself against these ideals and continually tries to improve. The goals are high and, as he reaches for them, he has some control over what and who he becomes.
Youth and adults are always welcome to attend pack and troop meetings to learn more about the program. Questions at any time can be addressed to Mike Saxton, Chartered Organization Representative, at 419-439-2079.
